About Us
At To Be Allied Health, we believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, to grow, and to be whatever it is they wish to be.
Our practice was founded by Mia McConnachie, a Speech Pathologist and educator with a Bachelor of Applied Science, a Master of Speech Pathology, and a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education. Mia has worked across early childhood education settings and schools, and brings both clinical expertise and a deep understanding of how children learn best.
Mia started To Be Allied Health because she has always been passionate about helping people. Her approach is evidence-based, family-centred, and fun — grounded in research, but always tailored to the individual child and their family. She strongly values building genuine connections, believing that therapy works best when children feel safe and understood.
We know from research (and experience) that children make the most progress when therapy happens in environments they are already familiar with — whether that’s at home, at school, or in the community. That’s why To Be Allied Health offers mobile services that fit into everyday life, making therapy practical, meaningful, and accessible.
While we currently provide speech pathology services for children and young people aged 0–18 years, Mia’s vision for To Be Allied Health is much bigger. She hopes to create a truly integrated service where families can access all the supports they need in one place.
At To Be Allied Health, our goal is simple: to support people in finding their voice, building their skills, and reaching their full potential — in their own way, and in their own time.
